AI Transformation Workbench
Where would AI actually help your organization, and where would it not?
Turn how your organization operates into a structured assessment, including an explicit account of the work that should stay with people or with ordinary software.
The Workbench is in alpha and access is invite-only. Both workflows are available to invited users.
Workflows
Two ways to use the Workbench
Shelter AI Assessment
For animal shelters and animal welfare organizations. Answer 12 questions about how your shelter works today and get a practical assessment of where AI could help and where people should stay in control.
You get: a workflow map, prioritized opportunities, guardrails, and a phased pilot plan.
Organization AI Opportunity Discovery
For organizations that want to evaluate real work using their own documents. Select the documents that describe how your organization operates and get practical opportunities based on what those documents actually say.
You get: prioritized AI, automation, and process improvements, with source citations and clear notes when there isn't enough evidence.
Examples
Two fictional examples from real Workbench runs.
Saved, read-only snapshots. No sign-in and no live model call when you open them.
Shelter AI Assessment
Smiley Animal Welfare Center
A form-based assessment for a fictional animal welfare organization, including opportunities, guardrails, and a do-not-automate list.
Organization AI Opportunity Discovery
EveryWorks Supply
An evidence-grounded opportunity report for a fictional distributor, with citations, recommendation types, and run checks.
How it works
Structured input, constrained output, human validation.
Step 01
You provide operating context
Shelter uses a fixed twelve-field form. Organization combines a context form with documents you select. The Workbench has no prior knowledge of your organization beyond what you submit.
Step 02
Output is constrained and validated
Model calls run on the server. Responses are constrained to a schema, validated before anything is saved, and checked against workflow-specific controls such as do-not-automate, guardrails, citations, and grounding.
Step 03
You validate it with your team
Each draft ships with assumptions, evidence basis, and questions to put to people who do the work. Nothing is applied to your organization automatically.
Judgement
AI where it earns its place. Ordinary software everywhere else.
Most operational problems are not model problems. Treating them as one adds cost, latency, and a new failure mode for no benefit.
Deterministic software is usually the better answer
When the rule can be written down, write it down. Rules, forms, scheduled jobs, and validation are predictable, testable, cheap to run, and they fail in ways you can debug.
- Eligibility and policy checks with fixed criteria
- Reminders, scheduling, and status transitions
- Required-field validation and data hygiene
- Anything where the same input must always give the same output
AI earns its place with language and ambiguity
Models are worth their cost where the input is unstructured, the phrasing varies, and a person would otherwise read every item to decide what it is.
- Summarizing long free-text notes
- Drafting text a person will edit and approve
- Sorting messy, inconsistent descriptions
- Surfacing themes across many documents
Shelter assessments include an explicit do-not-automate list. Organization Discovery can classify work as automation or process improvement when a model is the wrong tool.
Privacy and oversight
Assessments, reports, and documents are scoped to your organization. Model and embedding calls happen on the server. The Workbench takes no action on your behalf. Do not enter sensitive personal data during alpha.
Limitations
Alpha software producing drafts. Shelter does not use documents. Organization retrieval can miss evidence. PDF extraction reads a text layer only. Schemas and checks reduce failure modes; they do not guarantee correctness.
